Google Developers Group (GDG) is a non-profit organization, that uses Google Technologies to impart lives world wide. They archive their goals by organizing conferences, meetups, school challenge and other events that will inspire young developer.
Google Developer Group provides opportunities to meet local developers with similar interests in technology. A GDG meetup event includes talks on a wide range of technical topics where you can learn new skills through hands-on workshops.

GDG Aba DevFest 2017
GDG DevFest SE 2017 was indeed a classic event and the largest cluster developers event held in the South-South and South-East geo-political zone of Nigeria. We had members of eight (8) different chapters listed above in attendance.

Overall Objective was to create awareness around Google Technologies in the region, to encourage developers to acquire cutting edge skills like Google technologies and use them to solve local problems as well as build internationally acceptable applications
Likewise, to build a stronger technology ecosystem within the region, to attract the interest of investors of technology to our region and to encourage collaboration / partnership between all stakeholders in the region if the region must grow technologically.
2017 GDG successfully brought together over 600 developers, 300 entrepreneurs/techpreneurs and 30 students. Participation of delegates from Nigeria Communication Commission and Nigeria Computer Society. Rapid increase in membership of GDG Aba group on Meetup.com
DevFest Aba 2019, themed “The future is here: build, grow and scale” promises to be thrilling, educating and life changing. It’s scheduled for November 9th, 2019 by 9am, at Leadership center, behind Rufus Obi Chemist, Aba.
Meet 2019 Aba Devfest Speakers
Ada Nduka Oyom is a Software Developer, Sub-Sahara Africa GDG/WTM Developers Relation Community Manager at Google, Technical Writer, Tech Podcaster and Speaker. She is also an Open Source Advocate and the founder of SheCodeAfrica.
Igwe Uguru is the Co-founder of RAD5 Tech Hub, which has gone on to grow successful technology entrepreneurs, software developers, designers, and startup founders. He also engages with startup and entrepreneurship communities such as the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) and Techstars Startup Weekends to support the economic growth of Africa by mentoring early-stage entrepreneurs across Africa.
Jethro is a Full Stack Writer, Funnel Hacker, and Copywriter with experience cutting across various MarketingOps like lead generation, affiliate marketing, sales funnels, digital ads, email marketing, and conversion marketing. Jethro is part of a marketing team that sold digital products worth more than $1 million in the last one year.
Buchi Ubani is a writer, content developer and creative strategist. He is currently a contributor for Thisday newspaper, Week of Saturdays and Abia4tech.
Chiamaka Osumgba is a software developer, Techprenuer and Speaker. Currently a software developer at Innovation Growth Hub, one of the leading technology and business hubs in south eastern part of Nigeria.
Agba Uzoma is a professional digital and brand strategist with a passion for creating impact driven solutions for professionals, corporate organisation and startups. She is a digital skills trainer with Haptics on the Grow with Google Initiative.
