IgHub Hosts GIT Master Class

Ighub – that Creative, Technology and Business Hub in Nigeria dedicated to Building World-Class Technology Entrepreneurs is still earnestly on the voyage to provide tech solutions.

Innovation Growth Hub (Ighub) contributes to the digital growth of technology enthusiast in South East by organising a Git master class in two core cities in South East.

Git is a distributed version-control system for tracking changes in source code during software development.

It is designed for coordinating work among programmers, but it can be used to track changes in any set of files. Its goals include speed, data integrity, and support for distributed, non-linear workflows.

This event held at Innovation growth hub 62 ASA road Aba on Thursday 5th July and then at Innovation growth hub 39 new market road, Onitsha on Friday 4th July, 2019 both by 10am.

The beneficiaries were developers/programmers, Tech enthusiasts and Tech lovers.

Why Gits?

Some of the challenges developers/Techies encounter ranges from the following:

Made a change to code, realised it was a mistake and wanted to revert back?
Lost code or had a backup that was too old?
Had to maintain multiple versions of a product?

Wanted to see the difference between two (or more) versions of your code?
Wanted to prove that a particular change broke or fixed a piece of code?
Wanted to review the history of some code?

Wanted to submit a change to someone else’s code?
Wanted to share your code, or let other people work on your code?

Wanted to see how much work is being done, and where, when and by whom?
Wanted to experiment with a new feature without interfering with working code?

In these cases, and no doubt others, a version control system should make your tech life easier.

In Aba Mr. Ufere Samuel (IgHub CTO) handled Introduction to version control while Mr. Bamidele Segun (Back end Developer/Data Scientist) and Osumgba Chiamaka (full stack web developer) explicated Codelab.

IgHub Onitsha fellows benefited from Onwugalu Ifunanya Josh (UI/UX, Frontend Developer) who did justice to Introduction to Open Source Onwughalu Ifunaya Josh and Mr. Ufere Samuel again comprehensively handled the codelab session.

Innovation Growth Hub is massively creating tech solutions in South East.
